Bloopers

Here's where I'll put typos, errors of fact, and other mistakes. (Please do send me any you find!) Who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to revise the book someday.

Let's start off by noting that Hawaii is American but geographically not North American. Still, I think we can say it's "Asian North American" by nationality and culture.

P. 134 - I was a Nutrition & Food Science major in college, but that was a long time ago! I recently came across some different artificial flavoring descriptions and it looks like 2,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxy-3(2H)-furanone (aka furaneol) is more often used as an aritificial strawberry flavoring.  Artificial grape is methyl anthranilate (menthyl 2-aminobenzoate; this is actually present in Concord grapes) and/or ethyl heptaoate

P. 159 - First sentence after the block quote should not have "not," so, "Of course, 'pure understanding' and 'in accordance with the divine Word' are not matters of ongoing debate themselves." Yikes! Nothing like writing the exact opposite of what you mean!

P. 213 - the "" in "mắm" in "nước mắm" should have an acute (rising) rather than grave (falling) accent. Otherwise, how are you going to get your fishy breath on?

P. 223 - fifth bulletted item should start with "Icons" not "cons"
